Coverage Options
Understanding your coverage options helps you build a policy that protects what matters — without paying for what you don't need.
SR-22 Insurance
SR-22 is a state-mandated certificate proving you carry liability insurance, typically required after DUI, excessive points, or driving uninsured. Tennessee requires it for 3 years from the violation date.
Non-Owner SR-22
Non-owner policies provide liability coverage when you don't own a vehicle but need SR-22 filing to reinstate your license. Tennessee accepts non-owner SR-22 for most suspension types except those requiring vehicle-specific coverage.
Liability Insurance
Tennessee requires $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $15,000 property damage. Liability pays for damage you cause to others, not your own vehicle.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Uninsured motorist coverage protects you when hit by a driver with no insurance. Tennessee does not mandate this coverage, but carriers must offer it at the same limits as your liability policy.
Non-Standard Auto Insurance
Non-standard carriers specialize in high-risk drivers, including those with suspensions, DUIs, or lapsed coverage. Premiums run 40–80% higher than standard market rates but offer a path to coverage when preferred carriers decline.
